ILSC High School Program: Individual Credits

Study academic English and earn the high school credits you need to meet your goals or to have a Canadian high school experience.

Complete the specific high school credit courses that interest you or that you need to meet prerequisites for a college, TAFE, or university program.

ILSC High School Program: Individual Credits is a flexible program that allows you to target and complete one, two or more high school credits. Students age 16+ can study online or in class at any location and combine their credits with ILSC English for Academic Purposes or ESL-High School Bridge. Students age 14-15 can take the in-class program in Toronto, Vancouver or New Delhi, and combine their high school credit course(s) with ILSC’s ESL-High School Bridge classes.

Earn credits recognized across Canada while gaining the English language ability and academic skills needed to succeed in higher education. When you choose to study in class you’ll enjoy an immersion high school and English learning experience.

What you’ll learn

ILSC High School Program: Individual Credits combine ILSC English for Academic Purposes or ESL-High School Bridge classes with TVO ILC Study Blocks. You can choose to study one, two, or more high school credit courses that fit your interests and goals.

ILSC English Classes:

ILSC English for Academic Purposes for ages 16+: Strengthen your academic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. You’ll improve your grammar accuracy and build your vocabulary by exploring academic topics. Learn more about English for Academic Purposes.

ILSC ESL-High School Bridge for ages 14-15: Study academic English through curriculum specially designed for young learners, along with other students your own age. Learn more about ESL-High School Bridge.

High School Credit Courses: Choose from a variety of course options to meet your personal interests and goals, or to meet prerequisites for your future higher education goals. Sample classes include:

  • GRADE 9: English (ENG1D), Principles of Mathematics (MPM1D), Science (SNC1D)
  • GRADE 10: English (ENG2D), Foundations of Mathematics (MFM2P), Principles of Mathematics (MPM2D), Science (SNC2D)
  • GRADE 11: English (ENG3U), Functions (MCR3U), Functions and Applications (MCF3M), Environmental Science (SVN3M), Biology (SBI3U), Physics (SPH3U), Chemistry (SCH3U)
  • GRADE 12: English (ENG4U), Mathematics of Data Management (MDM4U), Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U), Science (SNC4M), Physics (SPH4U), Earth and Space Sciences (SES4U), Chemistry (SCH4U), Biology (SBI4U)

Monday - Friday

Students can choose either the Full-Time Online or Part-Time Online schedule for their language study.

  • FULL-TIME: 8:30am – 1:oopm
    ILSC English for Academic Purposes (core)
  • 2:30pm – 5:15pm
    TVO ILC Credit Course Study Block*
*Time allocated to the TVO ILC High School Program credit portion is self-directed and flexible. A minimum of 20 hours of study time per week is required for completion within 8 sessions.

Monday - Friday

Students can choose either the Full-Time Online or Part-Time Online schedule for their language study.

    • FULL-TIME: 11:00am – 3:oopm
      ILSC English for Academic Purposes (core)
    • 4:00pm – 6:45pm
      TVO ILC Credit Course Study Block*
*Time allocated to the TVO ILC High School Program credit portion is self-directed and flexible. A minimum of 20 hours of study time per week is required for completion within 8 sessions.

Monday - Friday

Students age 16+ can choose either the Full-Time Morning or Part-Time Morning schedule for their language study. Students age 12-15 must take the Full-Time Morning, ESL-High School Bridge program.

    PART-TIME: 8:30am – 1:oopm

  • 9:00am – 11:45am:
    TVO ILC Credit Course Study Block 1*
  • 12:30pm – 2:45pm:
    ILSC English for Academic Purposes or ESL-High School Bridge**
  • 3:30pm – 6:15pm:
    TVO ILC Credit Course Study Block 2*
*Students may choose between 9:00am – 2:00pm or 12:00pm – 5:00pm for an individual credit or select both to achieve 2 credits.
**Students ages 16 or older will can choose English for Academic Purposes or ESL-High School Bridge. Students ages 12 – 15 will attend our ESL High School Bridge class.

12 week course, earn 1 credit

    TVO ILC Credit Course Study Block**
*Students ages 16 or older will can choose English for Academic Purposes or ESL-High School Bridge. Students ages 12 – 15 will attend our ESL High School Bridge class.
