ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION FOR CANANDA

This program is not eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program.

In Vancouver, this program is offered in both approved and approval-not-required versions, depending on its length and tuition.

Approved Programs (longer than six months or for which tuition is at least $4,000)
This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

Non-approved Programs (less than 6 months and less than $4000 tuition)
Students who enroll in a language program which is six months or less in duration or for which tuition is less than $4,000 may not make a claim against the Student Tuition Protection Fund, which is managed by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. Further, this language program may not have been reviewed or approved by PTIRU.

Classes

Once you arrive on campus, choose CORE CLASSES and SKILLS CLASSES that fit your schedule, personal interests, language level, and study goals.

Intermediate to Advanced students can choose from any of the below Business English classes, or select from our English Communication, Academic and Test Preparation, or Creative and Cultural English class options.

This course is designed for students who are interested in learning and practicing business English as it relates to management and human resources. The course focuses on business management principles and human resources practices, and will help you improve your English macro-skills as well as business vocabulary. You will develop a strong base of business vocabulary, increase listening comprehension, practice reading and writing skills through classroom and homework assignments and increase speaking fluency through class conversation, debate and a class presentation.

  • Talk with confidence in busy café situations—helping customers, coordinating with coworkers, and staying cool under pressure.
  • Use real café vocabulary for drinks, equipment, service, and workflow.
  • Get hands‑on time with commercial coffee machines, steam wands, tampers, and more.
  • Develop barista basics and teamwork skills, from dialing in espresso to managing orders together.
  • Build job‑ready English for résumés, simple interviews, and everyday workplace communication.
