ILSC is excited to feature the Junior Camp at Toronto - Operated by CISS, General English Option. In this program you’ll study and live on the beautiful St. Hilda's College residence on the grounds of the University of Toronto’s downtown Trinity College campus, and connect with other international teen students throughout your program through exciting excursions and activities.

  • ACCOMMODATIONS: Single room (limited doubles)
  • TOILETS: Shared, 1:10
  • SHOWERS: Shared, 1:10-12
  • LAUNDRY: Card-operated machines available ($4 CAD per load)
  • INTERNET: Wireless internet with password
  • STUDENT TO STAFF RATIO: 1:12
  • MEALS: 3 meals per day, Monday to Saturday; 2 meals per day, Sunday. Students take meals at Strachan Hall at the main Trinity College campus.*

Attend General English classes.

ESL classes take place in modern classrooms located on the University of Toronto campus.

  • NUMBER OF LANGUAGE LEVELS: 4 Levels
  • NUMBER OF HOURS: 15 hours per week
  • NUMBER OF STUDENTS PER CLASS: 18 max
  • GENERAL ENGLISH CONTENT: This program provides classroom instruction in speaking, listening, reading and writing, with a focus on helping students of all proficiency levels to improve in their fluency and accuracy of speech. reign language learners to further their fluency and accuracy in English. With a focus on communication, lessons are designed for group oral activities as well as individual tasks in grammar, writing and reading.
  • LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS: All ESL instructors have TESL/CELTA certification and/or a teaching degree (B.Ed). Language instructors use modern communicative and task-oriented methodologies including group activities and roleplaying for effective language development.
  • STUDY SCHEDULE: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat from 9:00 AM - 12:15 PM
  • CERTIFICATE: All students receive end-of-course certificates and student progress reports.

Discover Toronto & build friendships in a fun social program.

  • AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES: On days with no planned excursions students can choose to participate in supervised activities like visits to the Athletic Centre, walking tours, visits to festivals and artisan markets, team sports, social games, art activities and more. Options  vary from week to week. Optional Sign-Out is also available for independent shopping or sightseeing (for students aged 14+, in groups of 3 or more).
  • OFF-SITE EXCURSIONS: One full-day and three half-day off-site activities per week. Most half day excursions take place in the afternoon, or occasionally in the evening. Excursions may include: Canada's Wonderland, Niagara Falls, CN Tour, Casa Loma, Toronto beaches, and more.
  • EVENING PROGRAM: All students participate in the evening program to socialize and connect with other students.  The evening program includes on and off-campus activities like: Amazing Race, board games, Casino night, Karaoke, Outdoor movie night, and more!
  • OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS: Additional optional afternoon or evening excursions are available one day per week for an additional fee (approximately $60 per week).
CISS_Activities

Weekly Program Schedule

Students will combine English classes with half-day excursions, or afternoon activities and an evening program. On Wednesday, students will enjoy a full day off-site excursion.
