A residential summer experience for teens ready to explore technology, business, and healthcare careers with Canadian students on one of Canada's most iconic campuses. For ages 13–18

 

Explore AI, Tech, HealthTech, Finance & more in Circuit Stream's Pre-University Camps at McGill University

Students live and study at McGill's downtown Montréal campus while diving into hands-on courses in AI, cybersecurity, finance, game design, and healthcare technology. Days combine interactive lessons with real projects, campus life, and evening and weekend activities that let students experience Montréal beyond the classroom, alongside Canadian students and other local youth.

McGill Programs

Students live and dine within the McGill Residence.*

  • CAPACITY: 300
  • ACCOMMODATIONS: Double rooms with two queen-sized beds
  • BATHROOMS: Shared, 1:2
  • LAUNDRY: No charge
  • INTERNET: Free WiFi in rooms and common areas
  • STUDENT TO STAFF RATIO: 1:15
  • ESTIMATED PUBLIC TRANSPORT FEES: $45 CAD per week
  • MEALS: 3 meals per day**

McGill Residence Room

Discover a pre-university study program that matches your interests and future study and career goals.

  • CLASS LOCATION: McGill Downtown Campus
  • STUDY HOURS: 60 hours total, 6 hours per day (Monday-Friday)
  • STUDY SCHEDULE: AM – PM (includes a 1 hr break for lunch)
  • LEARNING CONTENT: Topics will vary depending on your chosen course, but all camps combine interactive lessons with activities, project work and lab time every day. Students will gain direct industry exposure through guest lectures from industry experts, and from their instructors, hired for their extensive current experience in their field.
  • HANDS-ON PROJECT BUILDING: Students complete a final project that demonstrates their creativity, technical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • CERTIFICATION: Students receive a digital badge from Circuit Stream.
McGill Academics

Enjoy a social program that combines onsite afternoon and evening activities and off-site trips.

WEEKEND OFF-SITE ACTIVITIES: 1 full-day off-site activity per week. Activities may include: Redpath Museum, Olympic Stadium & Biosphere, Notre-Dame Basilica, Parc Jean-Drapeau, rock climbing, a full-day excursion to Quebec City, and more.

EVENING ACTIVITIES: Activities include scavenger hunts, sports evenings, student performances, and dance parties.

AI  CODING

Dive into artificial intelligence and discover how smart systems predict user preferences. You will master the algorithms behind modern recommendation engines and build your own custom AI models from scratch.

Outcome: Build a personalized recommendation engine and a responsive chatbot using Python and real-world datasets from an industry you care about.

Outcome: Build and optimize your own simulated stock portfolio using live market data to test active trading strategies and maximize returns.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP  BUSINESS

This course introduces students to the entrepreneurial process and the innovative thinking behind successful businesses, from spotting a real problem to pitching a solution. Students learn design-thinking fundamentals and generate an original venture idea, then validate it through real customer discovery (interviews and surveys) and market research. From there, students build a Business Model Canvas, design a brand identity, and create a prototype or mockup of their product or service, along with a basic pricing and cost model. Throughout the course, students explore how innovation helps new ventures stand out and compete. The course concludes with a live, panel-judged pitch in the style of a startup pitch competition. No prior business background is required.

Outcome: Students develop and pitch an original venture concept live to a judging panel, Shark Tank–style

CODING

Step into the role of a cybersecurity specialist to test and reinforce digital defenses against modern cyber threats. You will master the exact toolsets and strategies ethical hackers use to run vulnerability scans, perform penetration tests, and secure vulnerable systems.

Outcome: Take charge of a simulated network breach exercise where you will locate security flaws, deploy countermeasures, and lock down system defenses.

Weekly Program Schedule
