To be admitted to any Greystone College program, prospective students must meet specific requirements regarding prior education, language proficiency and minimum age, where applicable.
All applicants must submit, with their application, academic records and other documents deemed necessary for admission purposes.
If a prospective student does not meet the program admission requirements, neither the institution nor the student can waive the requirements.

* Mature student status may be granted to applicants who are over 19 years old and have not completed secondary school or equivalent. The applicants will be considered for admission based on the skills and experience they have acquired since leaving school. The applicant is required to provide the most recent transcripts or proof of academic accomplishments, a resume or summary of professional achievements highlighting points relevant to the application, and two professional letters of reference. The applicant may be interviewed by the Admissions or Academic office to further asses their suitability for admission to the program of study.
Credit transfers may be granted based on successful completion of post-secondary courses, which are similar overall in content and learning objectives to the course(s) at Greystone College.

ILSC Academic Placement Test
ILSC Academic English Placement Test (not applicable to Greystone College Vancouver) may be taken by applicants who have not taken a recognized standardized language tests/assessment, the test results have expired or do not meet the program requirements.

International students attending Greystone College Canada should have valid student health insurance to cover them for the duration of their time in Canada in case of a medical emergency. To ensure our students have the most transformative learning experience, our programs are delivered using online and mobile technologies, allowing students to work with a Learning Management System (Moodle) in and out of the classroom, participate in collaborative learning environments, and enhance their digital literacy.
Greystone College’s Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy requires all students to bring their own laptop to use on campus. The laptop must meet or exceed the technical specifications outlined below.
Touch screen devices, such as smartphones, tablets and iPads, are great tools for learning and can be used to access course materials but will not be sufficient for completion of course assignments.
Chromebooks or Android devices are not recommended as they do not support all course-related software requirements, such as Safe Exam Browser (SEB). Students will not be able to take online tests on these devices.

All students at Greystone College will have access to Microsoft Office 365, Learning Management System (Moodle) at no additional cost. Throughout the program, students will have access to course-specific software and will be required to download and install a secure web browser (Safe Exam Browser) in order to take quizzes and exams.
International students planning to study at Greystone College Canada must have the appropriate immigration status and authorization to study in Canada, where required.
Most international students studying in a program that is more than 6 months long require a study permit. A study permit is generally not required for a program that is 6 months or less, provided the program can be completed within the period authorized for the student’s stay in Canada. Students can use IRCC’s Find out if you need a study permit tool for more information.
Important: The information below is provided as general guidance only. Immigration requirements are determined by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and are subject to change. Students are responsible for confirming the requirements that apply to their individual circumstances directly with IRCC, or an authorized immigration representative.
A visitor visa, also called a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) may be required to travel to Canada. The travel document required depends on factors such as citizenship, the travel document being used, and how the traveller enters Canada.
A visitor visa or eTA is not the same as a study permit. Students planning to study in Canada for 6 months or less may not require a study permit, but must still have the appropriate immigration status and travel documents required to enter and remain in Canada.
Use IRCC’s Check if you need a visa or eTA tool to determine which travel document may be required.
Most international students studying in Canada for more than 6 months require a study permit. Students should review IRCC study permit requirements carefully before applying, as individual requirements may vary.
In most cases, students applying for a study permit must include a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) from the province where they will study. When a PAL is required, Greystone College will provide it to the student as part of the registration process.
Students studying at Greystone College Montréal generally require a Québec Acceptance Certificate / Certificat d’acceptation du Québec (CAQ) instead of a PAL. The CAQ is issued by the Government of Québec and serves as the provincial attestation required for the study permit application. Once the required documents have been received, students can follow IRCC instructions to apply for a study permit.

As of April 1, 2026, eligible post-secondary international students no longer require a separate co-op work permit to participate in a required student work placement, such as a co-op or internship. Students who already hold a valid co-op work permit may continue to use it for the duration of its validity.
To participate in a required co-op or work placement, students must meet all applicable IRCC eligibility requirements. Greystone College will provide a letter confirming that the work placement is a required component of the program. The student’s study permit must also include the conditions required by IRCC before the work placement begins.

Some international students may be eligible to work off campus without a separate work permit while studying in Canada. Having a study permit or studying full-time does not automatically make a student eligible to work off campus.
Eligibility depends on the program, enrolment status, conditions on the study permit and other IRCC requirements. Eligible students may currently work up to 24 hours per week during regular academic sessions and may work unlimited hours during regularly scheduled breaks, where applicable.
Students are responsible for confirming that they meet all IRCC off-campus work requirements before beginning work.
Greystone College programs are not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).
Some Greystone College programs may provide academic pathways that allow eligible credits to be transferred toward a program offered by another post-secondary institution. Some receiving institutions may offer programs that are eligible for a PGWP.
Transferring credits or completing a pathway does not guarantee PGWP eligibility. Eligibility is determined by IRCC and depends on factors including the receiving institution, the specific program completed and the student’s individual circumstances. Students considering a pathway should review the current PGWP eligibility requirements and confirm the eligibility of the receiving institution and program before making a decision.
International students are responsible for maintaining valid immigration status in Canada and following the conditions that apply to their study permit and other immigration documents throughout their studies. Students should review the conditions of their study permit and ensure they continue to meet all applicable IRCC requirements.
As Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs), Greystone College campuses are also required to meet IRCC compliance reporting requirements, including reporting on the enrolment status of international students when requested by IRCC.
