A Flexible Pathway to High School Studies in Canada

Starting high school in a new country can feel like a big step. At ILSC Language Schools, students can build the English and academic skills needed to feel more confident before transitioning into high school studies in Canada. 

Through the University Pathway Program, students strengthen their academic English, become more familiar with Canadian classroom expectations, and prepare for future educational opportunities in a diverse international learning environment. Whether students are continuing their studies right away or still building their confidence, the pathway is designed to support different English levels and academic goals.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION FOR CANADA

The University Pathway program at ILSC Canada is not eligible for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

In Vancouver, the University Pathway program is offered in both approved and approval-not-required versions, depending on its length and tuition.

Approved Programs (longer than six months or for which tuition is at least $4,000)
This program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

Non-approved Programs (less than 6 months and less than $4000 tuition)
Students who enroll in a language program which is six months or less in duration or for which tuition is less than $4,000 may not make a claim against the Student Tuition Protection Fund, which is managed by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. Further, this language program may not have been reviewed or approved by PTIRU.

Students in the High School Pathway Canada program are required to complete at least one ILSC level of required classes through Full-Time Morning, Full-Time Afternoon, or Full-Time Intensive classes (minimum 4 weeks of study*). See schedules.

Your required classes will vary depending on the ILSC Language Entry Level required for your chosen program at your partner school and the recommendations of your High School Pathway Advisor.

*The actual number of weeks required to complete a level may vary depending on a student's schedule choice, motivation, and other factors. Students who want to take advantage of our Progression Guarantee must take the Full-Time Intensive schedule.

Students must complete at least one level of English for Academic Purposes.

If students will complete multiple levels at ILSC, they may also choose to complete IELTS Preparation OR Cambridge classes during their earlier levels.
