*All pricing is in Canadian dollars.  1 lesson is equal to 50 minutes.  Take advantage of our Progression Guarantee for Intensive Online students! We’ve reviewed the progression of thousands of ILSC students, and according to our data, the majority of our Intensive Online students progress to the next level in just 4 weeks - for those who don't, we'll provide extra academic support in your next 4-week session. If you are unable to progress to the next level after the second session, you get free Intensive Online study (Conditions apply; see below for details).  Students in the Semi-Intensive Online schedule may take 4 weeks or longer to progress to the next level. Students in the Elective Online schedule will have a continuous development of their language skills. Our Progression Guarantee does not apply to Semi-Intensive Online and Elective Online students. Please note that every student's ability to progress through levels may vary, depending on their attendance, completion of homework, overall commitment to studies, personal circumstances, and individual aptitude for language acquisition.

ILSC & ELS English Level Equivalencies

ILSC offers a wide range of classes at 10 progressive language levels: from Beginner 1 (B1) to Advanced 2 (A2). At the advanced levels, we also offer two Mastery level classes, Mastery 1 (M1) and Mastery 2 (M2), which are designed for University Pathway students who choose particular program pathways.

ILSC's core classes are typically offered at all 10 levels, while elective classes often combine students from two successive levels, allowing them to share their strengths and skills with other students.  ILSC's levels map to ELS USA levels according to the below chart.

The range of tests listed varies greatly in design, purpose, and format. This chart is intended to serve only as a guideline of test scores and ILSC and ELS levels and may not apply equally to every individual.

Students completing a level in the ILSC HELLO Online English program are welcome to transfer to an in-person campus at either ILSC or ELS in accordance with the above level equivalency chart.
Students who are planning to begin university studies in the US at ELS partner universities which accept ELS Level 112 completion will be required to attend the full Master’s level program (Levels 110, 111 and 112) in person at an ELS Language Center to receive a qualifying certificate. Students who wish to enroll in partner colleges which require Level 109 completion will need to attend and complete Level 109 in person at an ELS Language Center.

  • Complete 100% of class assessments
  • If required, follow the Individualized Learning Plan designed by your teachers and/or pathway coordinators
