New Canada Quarantine Exemption for Fully Vaccinated Students.

Since Monday, July 5th, International Students who have been fully vaccinated and who test negative in the pre-entry PCR test do not have to complete the full 14-day quarantine upon arrival and are also exempt from the day-8 PCR test.

Canada’s new quarantine exemption is for travellers who are currently permitted to enter the country, and who have received the full course of a vaccine (or a combination of vaccines) that is approved for use in Canada, at least 14 days before arrival. Accepted vaccines include Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD, and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). To be eligible for this exemption arriving students must:

  1. Submit proof of vaccination (in English or French, or a certified translation).
  2. Have a 3-day isolation plan in place while awaiting the result of the arrival PCR
  3. Demonstrate a suitable 14-day quarantine plan that can be used only in case of a positive arrival PCR result

They must also take the pre-arrival COVID-19 PCR test within 72-hours of arrival, and submit all required information in the ArriveCAN App.

Partially vaccinated and unvaccinated students will still need to follow full quarantine requirements. See our Quarantine Accommodation packages for details. ILSC & Greystone College have also developed accommodation packages for fully vaccinated students to help them meet the exemption requirements and support their smooth entry & safe arrival to Canada.
