Global Leadership Course Details

A combination of in-class instruction, interactive workshops and project planning

The Global Leadership program has been carefully structured to provide youth with the essential foundation to become strong, confident leaders in today’s ever-changing world. The course is divided between in-class lessons, community focused activities, and engaging workshops. Each week, participants are asked to consider the world from different perspectives, preparing them for their role as global leaders. This programme offers an enriching, challenging, and rewarding experience that extends well beyond the classroom!

Note: formal ESL instruction is not a component of this course

Specialized lessons are designed and taught by expert staff whose focus is to help participants learn how to effectively lead others, while creating passion and change within themselves and the world around them. Learn from expert instructors who:

  • Have a teaching degree and specialize in leadership courses
  • Have training and experience instructing high school students
  • Are available for 1-to-1 consultations

Developed to focus on a variety of topics related to leadership. Participants examine the evolution of different leadership styles and theories, including an exploration of the concept from an online perspective.

Lessons in this course teach students how to make an impact through effective expression. Concepts taught include conflict resolution, crosscultural sensitivity, empathy, and the impact of media.

A key component to becoming an effective leader is based on the ability to make positive and impactful decisions. The problem solving course teaches critical thinking skills needed to design and implement innovative solutions.

Students continue to expand their knowledge through interactive workshops. Topics may include building critical thinking skills, personal development, and values exploration.

An opportunity for students to explore the concept of “community” from local and global perspectives. Students discuss some of the key issues and their ability to address these issues within the communities where they live, the global community, and in their immediate location at camp.

Block 1: You AT HOME
Block 2: You IN THE WORLD
Block 3: You ON CAMPUS

Our ultimate goal is for each participant to extend their passion beyond the classroom and to demonstrate real evidence of their leadership potential. Students apply their new skills to create a project which can then be implemented within their own community. Projects are presented inclass the final week of the course.

Weekly Program Schedule

Students will combine Global Leadership classes with half-day excursions, or afternoon activities and an evening program. On Wednesday, students will enjoy a full day off-site excursion.

*Exact time may vary depending on the activity.
