Entry Requirements After August 9th
You will need to complete a COVID-19 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test before you come to Canada.
- Take the test within 72 hours before your scheduled arrival
You will need to provide proof that you’ve received 2 doses of either the Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, or AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD vaccine (or a mix of two of these vaccines) or ONE DOSE of the Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine.
- Proof must be in English or French (or a certified translation)
- You must have received your last vaccine at least 14 days before arriving to Canada
- You must enter your vaccination proof in the ArriveCAN app and carry the original with you in case a border officer asks to see it
Even though you are exempt from quarantine, the government expects you to have a plan in place in case you don’t receive the exemption at the border.
When you book your accommodations with ILSC & Greystone College, your accommodation package can be easily converted to support 14 days of quarantine for a minimal additional fee*, making it easy for you to meet this entry requirement.
*Quarantine upgrade rate will only be charged if and when required.
You must have your study permit with you, and all other documentation showing your plans to study at our schools.
Accommodations For Fully Vaccinated Students
If you’re fully vaccinated, you can take advantage of our regular accommodation options. All fully vaccinated students must pay ILSC’s accommodation placement fee as part of the backup quarantine plan that is required by border officials. We also offer optional add-on services to support your smooth entry:
- Accommodation placement fee ($230) - required
- a SIM card ($50) - recommended
- Airport pickup ($110) - recommended
What if I am asked to quarantine?
In the extremely rare case that you are asked to quarantine by a customs officer upon arrival, ILSC & Greystone College are here to support you.
- Students should immediately call our emergency phone number and inform our staff.
- Our accommodations staff will arrange quarantine hotel accommodation and transportation from the airport to the hotel.
- If you have booked homestay accommodations with us, you will be charged the same weekly rate plus a supplement fee of $330 (half-board) or $300 (full-board) to cover your 14-day hotel quarantine.
