To apply to ILSC or Greystone College, you’ll complete one of our ILSC Placement Tests. Depending on your program, you will receive the ILSC GENERAL English Placement Test or the ILSC ACADEMIC English/French Placement Test. These language tests will determine if you meet the entry level for your chosen ILSC or Greystone College program, and help our team place you in the right class.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS TEST? Anyone who wants a general idea of their English level.
Our free test provides customized study suggestions based on your level result and can be used to start planning your studies.		 Students who register for general English studies will take this test.
Students will be placed in the right class before they arrive, with no additional tests required.		 Students who register for Greystone College programs or specialized ILSC Language Schools programs like University Pathway and more will take this test. Students who register for ILSC Language Schools programs like High School Pathway or Junior Summer Camps will take this test.

If you plan to register for Greystone College, or an ILSC Language Schools specialty program, you can take this test before completing your registration to find out if you meet the English requirement.

TAKE THE PRE-ARRIVAL LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT

Once we have your registration details, we’ll email you a link to take either our  ILSC GENERAL English Placement Test or ILSC ACADEMIC English/French  Placement Test.

You'll need 25-75 minutes to complete the test and a reliable internet connection. You'll also need a device with a camera-enabled to record video for the speaking assessment.

Step 4

RECEIVE YOUR RESULTS & GET READY FOR YOUR FIRST DAY

ILSC ACADEMIC English Test results will arrive to your email within 24 hours - if you need to adjust your study plan or length to meet your goals, now is the time. ILSC GENERAL English Placement Test results will be provided the day you arrive at ILSC and you will already be placed in the right classes for your level. 

Once you arrive, you’ll be able to start your classes with confidence – no additional assessments are required!
