New Changes to Canada’s Border and Travel Measures

Great news! The Government of Canada just announced new changes to the Canadian border measures.

• Effective November 30, 2021, the list of COVID-19 vaccines that international travelers can receive to be considered fully vaccinated for the purpose of travel to Canada now includes Sinopharm, Sinovac (Coronavac) and COVAXIN, matching the World Health Organization Emergency Use Listing. Fully vaccinated travelers do not have to quarantine.

• Effective January 15, 2022, international students who are 18 years and older will only be allowed to enter Canada if they are fully vaccinated with one of the approved vaccines. To be considered fully vaccinated, international students must have received the full series of a vaccine—or combination of vaccines—accepted by the Government of Canada at least 14 days prior to entering Canada.

Before arrival into Canada, students must upload their proof of vaccination to the ArriveCAN app. Also, as a reminder, all students must provide proof of a COVID-19 negative molecular test result taken within 72 hours of your scheduled flight, or arrival at a land border crossing to enter Canada.
