What is CELTA?

CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is an internationally recognised qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. It is awarded by Cambridge Assessment English, part of the University of Cambridge. It focuses on practical teaching techniques, lesson planning, classroom management, and understanding language learners' needs.

Expect to spend 2-4 hours weekday evenings and more on weekends for self-study.

Articulation Pathway agreement between ILSC CELTA and Griffith University

An exciting and unique opportunity for our trainees

We’re pleased to announce that we have established an articulation pathway agreement with our long-standing partner Griffith University on their advanced teaching qualifications.
Under this agreement, graduates of our CELTA courses are eligible for a credit transfer towards the following courses:

  • Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
  • Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
  • Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Leadership

This pathway recognises the academic rigour and practical depth of CELTA, and provides our graduates with a clear option to build on their qualification through further postgraduate study.
