Job Location: 

ILSC IELTS Department is recruiting part-time, hourly paid test proctors to administer IELTS exam at ILSC San Francisco. IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. IELTS test takes place on Saturdays only, on up to 24 dates per year, typically twice per month.

Job Duties: 

Suitable candidates should have the following experience, qualifications and competencies:

  • communicate clearly in English to candidates from many language backgrounds (Communications skills in English (English language level of CEFR B2 “Listening, Speaking, Reading skills” or equivalent “e.g. IELTS 6.5”)
  • Ability to plan time methodically and carry out instructions carefully 
  • Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions from the supervisor

test proctor's duties in brief are:

Set Up - test proctors set up rooms and other equipment before all exams start

Administration – test proctors check out exam papers and other materials from exams office and carry out admin work before all exams start

Checking-in – test proctors must conduct thorough check-in on candidates

Test room- test proctors invigilate the test

Additional Information: 

Applicants must be eligible to work in America, and be able to work 5 to 7.5 hour shifts, starting early on Saturday mornings. Invigilator will be paid $15 per hour. Test proctors can train to become Clerical Markers as well.
