Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the bookkeeping of the company and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, standards and company policies, related to the following:

Job Duties: 
Accounting 
• Full cycle Accounting and bookkeeping for multiple locations across Canada and the US
• Knowledge of US reporting and taxation is an asset
• Managing interfaces between ERP and accounting system
• Reconciliation of accounts on a sessional basis
• Reconciliation of intercompany transactions and accounts
• Review of bank reconciliations and cash transaction monitoring
• Review and improvement of processes with an eye for continuous process improvement
• GST/HST reporting and corporate tax filings
• A/P management and oversight over cut off and accruals
• Coordinating with AR and managing data migration from AR in ERP module
• Supporting national payroll resources
 
Reporting 
• Managerial accounting reports
• Financial accounting reports (e.g. corporate annual report, financial statements, budgets and forecasts, taxes etc.)
• Any other information/ reports required by external auditors, consultants and Principals/Owners.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes: 
• Full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping practices and principles
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and budgeting practices
• Skill in maintaining and reconciling accounting and financial records
• Skill in both verbal and written communication
• Ability to manage time
• Experience managing a team based in multiple locations
• Strong problem-solving capabilities
• Highly confident and agile/ responsive to business needs
• Detailed oriented
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
 
Education and Experience Required
• Five years' related accounting experience in a managerial or supervisory role
• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
• Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains Dynamics) accounting software
