Give details of your current circumstances, including ties to family, community, employment, and economic circumstances.
This should include short sentences mentioning:

  • The highest education level achieved and program of study (e.g. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering from SFC University)
  • Living arrangements (e.g. own home or living with family members etc.)
  • Strong connections to home country that demonstrate incentives to return home after studies, including any specific family obligations (such as taking care of aging parents with household tasks, medical appointments, etc. or helping with maintenance or management or future inheritance of any family assets such as businesses/real estate, etc.), community responsibilities/involvement/commitments, etc.
  • Job position in any previous or current employment (or internships if no current employment yet)
  • Current salary
  • Your own or family’s assets (e.g. ownership of a house, vehicles, land, businesses, other assets such as gold/shares, etc.) to demonstrate good overall financial standing in the home country.
  • Sufficient total amount of saved funds (expressed in AUD) that have been accumulated over time (ideally at least 6 months) and are readily available (e.g. in a current bank account).
  • State if you are self-funded OR provide the names of sponsors (close family members are preferred as sponsors).

 

Give reasons for choosing Australia to study your course of choice at ILSC or Greystone College.
You must explain you understand the requirements of your course of choice as well as studying and living in Australia.
This should include a few sentences stating:

  • Name of course, school (ILSC or Greystone College) and its location, and duration of study period.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the specific benefits of ILSC or Greystone College (e.g. assessments every 4 weeks,an English Only Policy, multiple timetables, flexibility to choose from a range of Skills courses (as applicable)such as Business English/Public Speaking/English for Travel and Hospitality/Listening and Pronunciation/IELTSTest Preparation/English for Academic Purposes, variety of Vocational qualifications under the AustralianQualifications Framework, etc.)
  • Your current and target English level.
  • Brief reason why study options in your home country are not available/suitable.
  • Study-related reasons for choosing Australia (e.g. lower tuition costs compared to the UK, easier climate to getused to than Canada, and a safer and more stable environment than the USA, etc.)
  • Study-related reasons for the choice of city (avoid lifestyle or work-related reasons)

 

 

 

Explain how completing the course will be of benefit to you and your future career.
This should include:

  • If the applicant is applying for an English course, provide:
    • Specific reasons why and how you need English for your current or future job position or education plans (e.g. need to understand English documents, need to communicate with international clients, read technical documents, etc.)
    • Examples of how your current English level is not adequate (e.g. relying on translators, inability to communicate with team members or clients, costly errors due to miscommunication, inability to apply for higher-level positions, etc.)
  • Details of how specific ILSC or Greystone courses and classes will help to fill these gaps and increase the chances for better job prospects in your home country (e.g. Public Speaking will help to build vocabulary and confidence when speaking with clients in English etc.)
  • State-specific desired future job titles in specific companies, English requirements, expected future salary and other benefits.
  • Emphasize that these employment prospects are realistic and achievable and represent a significantly improved socio-economic standing in your home country compared to the average wage or cost of living.

 

Provide any other directly relevant information you would like to include in your application.
If the necessary details in Questions 1 to 3 do not fit into the 150-word limit per question, you can also add them to Question 4.
Other relevant information may include:

Previous international travel, as this shows good visa compliance in the past and an international vision.

Previous English study experience (formal or independent/informal) as this shows a long-standing and genuine desire to improve English.

Any further personal/emotional/career/financial ties to your home country that demonstrate strong reasons to return after your studies in Australia are complete.
