Corporate Social Responsibility

ILSC aims to positively contribute to the growth and development of people, and communities while reducing our impact on the environment, here at home, at the school, and around the world.

At ILSC, having a corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy is an important part of who we are, in fact it is the very core of our collective being. ILSC was founded and developed on the principles of Humanism. CSR in its full breadth and depth is, at its core, the embodiment of Humanism as practiced by the business community. As facilitators of a global classroom, we strive to be unbiased, compassionate role models. As learners ourselves, we are constantly thinking about and adopting new strategies for building a better future.

We believe that ILSC, as an educational institution for international and domestic students, has many opportunities to be an agent of positive change.

ILSC coordinates a range of CSR initiatives including:

Learn to Earn Program

"Learn to Earn" is ILSC-New Delhi's educational sponsorship program which offers free English education and job skills training to young disadvantaged Indian girls, with the generous assistance of private sponsors. The program helps open new opportunities for these young women in a country that struggles with one of the highest rates of poverty in the world. ILSC sister schools have been sponsoring the program; however, new sponsors are always welcome.

ILSC Green Team and the ILSC Environmental Policy

At ILSC we are conscious of our responsibility to take an active role in environmental stewardship. Our official Environmental Policy was first implemented in 2008, and since then we have been working hard to further reduce our environmental impact, and our Green Team develops awareness raising campaigns to help us succeed. In 2011, we became the first private language school to become Climate Smart Certified. Climate Smart is a B.C. certification that applies to our Vancouver locations.

ILSC Fundraisers

ILSC is truly an international organization that operates on three continents and hosts students from all over the world. In all ILSC locations we foster a sense of global community. Part of that is taking care for our global citizens by taking action when others are in need.

Over the past few years, the ILSC community has come together to provide aid after unexpected disasters in the Horn of Africa, Japan, Pakistan, Haiti and more.

ILSC Foundations

ILSC has two Canadian registered charities that raise funds for, and help facilitate the work of charities and community economic development programs and initiatives. Currently our foundations have helped raise funds for, and offer support to the Learn to Earn program. We plan to support and develop many more exciting initiatives in the future through our two foundations, Community Evolution and Inspiration in Action.
