Registering for the IELTS Test – Part 1
Question 1: Can I submit my driver’s license or ID card, instead of my passport?
ILSC test centres in Canada only accept official passports or Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Cards as identification. Driver’s licenses, school IDs, and other forms of photo ID are not accepted.
In the United States, ILSC test centres accept official passports only. No other form of ID is accepted.
Further questions about acceptable identification for the IELTS test should be directed toward individual test centres.
Question 2: How can I get a copy of my receipt?
After paying online, you will receive your receipt via email to the address you provided during your IELTS registration.
It is possible for this email to end up in your Spam or Junk Mail if ILSC is not flagged as a “safe contact.” If you do not receive your receipt after making your payment online, please check your spam folder for an email from ILSC.

Question 3: I can’t make my payment online; what is my reference number?
You can make your online payment for any of ILSC’s IELTS Test Centres by selecting the location of your test centre on our IELTS Test page.
In order to make your payment online, you will first need to complete the online registration form and retrieve your Reference Number. You will receive a Reference Number at the end of the IELTS registration process; you will need this Reference Number when you make your payment online.
After registering for your IELTS test, go back to ILSC’s IELTS Test page and look for the PAY ONLINE NOW button. Please note that payment and required documents (copy of ID) must be submitted within 3 days of registration.
