ILSC New York student, Andrea Szabo, shares what it’s like staying at a student residence for the very first time!
I’d never been in a student residence before and I didn’t have too many expectations. But when I got here [St. George Towers] I was really amazed. I love the environment with all the recreational spaces, and the people who live here are great. The staff are so friendly, they make you feel at home no matter who you are.
There are so many young people from different countries, with a good mood and attitude all the time. Sometimes we talk to each other about our life experiences. It’s a good way to improve and practice our English. It’s a great place to make new friends and feel as comfortable as in your own place.
It’s great to have a subway station just downstairs, even more when it is winter! Moreover, we don’t even have to go outside to do laundry because it has its own laundry room for students. In addition, we all have a room equipped with furniture and a fridge to keep our food.
From my own experience I really recommend students to stay in this place if they are looking for accommodation in NY. The neighborhood is really quiet and pleasant. It has all the facilities close by and many subway station are walking distance. St. George residence is a must for students in NY!
