Having a break between setting up tents (Bruna in the middle)

ILSC-Brisbane Activities Coordinator, John sat down with Brazilian student, Bruna Perazzio and chatted about her experience volunteering at the recent Ride to Conquer Cancer in Brisbane. This is what she had to say about being a part of this great event:

“The volunteer experience was incredible! I’m the kind of person who loves to make new friends and learn about different cultures. Working as a volunteer, being part of this amazing crew provided unforgettable memories.

Despite all the cold showers and the uncomfortable bed, all the conversations, the good laughs, the food (yes, the food was so good!) these bad things became irrelevant and everything I can remember will be the good points of the trip.

We set up the tents, helped them to put the advertisements in the right places and assisted the riders with their luggage.

To sum up, it was a great trip and my advice for the new students is to live this experience because it is going to be one of the most amazing things you’ll do in your lives.”
