Jeannie (Academic Director) – Everyone who meets Jeannie can instantly see that she is overjoyed to be a part of ILSC. With a huge smile, Jeannie will welcome you to her office to discuss academic issues, counseling, class changes, and other concerns. Jeannie has the impressive talent of knowing the name, home country, and student number of everyone at ILSC-San Francisco! Jeannie speaks Spanish beautifully and is always happy to answer questions from Spanish speaking students. Finally, she is the coordinator of the University Pathways program and assists students interested in transferring to an American university after completing their program at ILSC. She can help you prepare for the TOEFL exam, improve your Academic English, plan campus tours and visits, and builds relationships with schools like De Anza College, Santa Barbara City College, and Alliant International University. Her door is always open, so stop in and say hello!
Katherine (Homestay Coordinator and Counselor) – Katherine is our wonderful homestay coordinator who takes special pride in placing students in warm and caring homes or exciting and cosmopolitan residences for their time in San Francisco. Katherine and her team hand-pick each of our homestay families after interviews and in-person visits to guarantee that our students live in comfort and safety and have a wonderful experience with their new ‘Mom’ and ‘Dad’. She also builds relationships with local hostels and residences such as Vantaggio Suites and 851 California Residence Club for students who prefer a more dormitory-like environment full of cultural exchange and lots of new friends. Katherine also is our Korean language counselor and is always happy to help provide advice to our students from South Korea.
Yoko (Registrar and Counselor) – Yoko is a very important person at ILSC because she’s the one who makes sure that students get their I-20s and all other important paperwork. She is the main contact for all study permit related issues – if you have a question, ask her mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org. Yoko has the biggest, happiest smile that you’ve probably ever seen in your life. She is also the head student counselor and is always available to speak with students who are having trouble in their classes, feeling homesick, or just need to talk. Originally from Japan, Yoko provides Japanese language counseling as well.
Branca (South America/Mexico Registrar and Counselor) – Branca works closely with Yoko to help students get all of their paperwork in time for their journey to California. Branca is passionate about making sure that students have an easy time transitioning to the US for their studies and checks every detail to make sure that there will be no problems. Branca comes from Brazil and is our Portuguese language student counselor.
Lindsay (Activities Coordinator/Corporate Social Responsibility) – Lindsay is the first person that you will see when you walk through the doors at ILSC-San Francisco. Her friendly “Good morning!” will always welcome you. She is happy to help students find their footing in the beautiful city of San Francisco, and as Activities Coordinator she is a big part of planning the amazing events and excursions that we have at ILSC such as trips to the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Golden Gate Park, Little Italy, Chinatown, and our fantastic road-trip across the West – English on the Road! As the school’s Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, Lindsay finds ways for ILSC to give back to our community and to the world through volunteering, being green, and donating to charities such as ILSC-New Dehli’s Learn to Earn Program.
Nadine (Director) – Nadine is our wonderful director here at ILSC-San Francisco. She has been with ILSC for over 12 years and really feels like this company is her family. Nadine has worked hard to bring together a staff of proactive, passionate people who are all deeply invested in our students and their learning. Originally from Montréal, Canada, Nadine additionally acts as our French language counselor. She is also currently learning Arabic so that she can provide counseling to even more of our students!
